Can You Take Testosterone Orally?
My thoughts on Kyzatrex and oral testosterone
Men and women everywhere are waking up to the realization they HAVE to do something about their declining testosterone levels.
As more and more folks become conscious of the great hormonal decline, there will be more and more products like Kyzatrex (oral testosterone in a pill form) that sprout up.
A reader submitted this questions just the other day in my question box.
“Should I use oral testosterone to start TRT while maintaining fertility and some natural production instead of having to take injectable testosterone, HCG, and HMG? I’d like to limit the cost”
Let me start by addressing the technical aspects of this question, then I’ll move into the broader implications.
No.
I do not recommend taking oral testosterone.
I don’t even recommend starting with oral testosterone.
I mean, you can try it if you want 🤷♂️
But you’ll very quickly discover what every other guy who goes through this has discovered:
Oral testosterone is VASTLY inferior to injectable testosterone.
The bioavailability is simply much poorer because it has to pass through the liver.
As for maintaining fertility and natural production, oral testosterone does not do either of those things better than injections.
Now that that’s out of the way, let me get to what I REALLY think is at the heart of the issue:
Trypanophobia (the fear of needles and injections).
Maybe I’m wrong…
Maybe the dude sending me this really does just want to save some money.
If that’s the case, I’d tell you to think of getting on TRT like getting a tattoo - do you REALLY want to cheap out on such a big decision?
But regardless of his intention, the fact of the matter is there are MANY guys who have this thought process around injections…
And they’re willing to use any rationalizations necessary to avoid pinning themselves.
“I’ll just use oral testosterone!’
“I’ve heard there’s a great oral version of sermorlein!”
“The nasal spray works just as well, right?”
Look, I’m not going to tell you what to do or what not to do with your body.
But in my opinion, you’re doing yourself a serious disservice here.
Yes, there are some great oral agents like SLU-PP-332 and Metformin out there.
And yes, there are some viable oral and nasal formulations of peptides out there that work pretty well.
Nonetheless, most health-promoting agents and therapies require an injection to work effectively.
And if you want to take advantage of them, you MUST get over this hangup you have.
I get it…
If you’ve never self-injected before, the first time can be a bit nerve-wracking.
You’ll get over it.
Probably immediately after the first shot.
After about a week or so of doing this, it just becomes part of your routine.
I even PREFER injections to taking yet another handful of pills in the morning.
Everyone goes through this.
I went through it.
Jay Campbell went through it.
All the amazing men and women in our Fully Optimized Health community went through it.
And we’ve all overcome it.
Injecting is scary - until you do it.
Then it’s not.
It’s as simple as that.
Best,
Hunter Williams
