Courage on Memorial Day

What courage really means

Happy Memorial Day!

In case you missed it, last night we live streamed with the founders of PeptidePro.App — a brand new peptide scheduling calendar tool that is so much more than a calendar.

This morning, while journaling, I was reflecting deeply on what Memorial Day truly symbolizes.

Beyond the grilling, trips to the beach, and time off work, Memorial Day embodies sacrifice, gratitude, and perhaps most importantly—courage.

We pause this weekend to remember those brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

But their courage doesn’t just live in memories or monuments—it lives within us when we choose to embrace our own battles, even the ones inside our bodies.

Let me share a story with you today.

While it’s not about one specific individual, it is a composite of the countless veterans I’ve coached, advised, and connected with online.

We’ll call him Mike.

Mike joined the military straight out of high school.

Driven by a profound desire to serve and a courageous spirit, he put himself on the front lines overseas, sacrificing comfort, safety, and familiarity for something much greater than himself.

After years of intense physical and emotional trials, Mike returned home, grateful to be alive but forever changed.

Initially, Mike seemed strong and resilient, but beneath the surface, his body was suffering silently.

Years of exposure to harsh environments, physical exertion, extreme stress, poor sleep, and suboptimal nutrition during deployments had left him chronically exhausted.

Joint pain became constant.

His energy and mood spiraled downward, making everyday life harder to navigate.

Traditional medical approaches provided temporary relief but left him frustrated.

The VA was no help.

Doctors offered medications to mask symptoms rather than real solutions.

Mike felt trapped—his freedom compromised in a way he’d never anticipated.

One Memorial Day weekend, as Mike stood solemnly during a ceremony honoring fallen brothers-in-arms, he had a profound realization.

These soldiers had bravely sacrificed everything for the freedom and potential of others.

Mike asked himself, “Am I truly honoring their courage if I don’t have the bravery to reclaim my own health?”

From that day, Mike chose a different kind of courage—one that meant facing uncertainty head-on and reclaiming the freedom he’d fought to protect: his health and vitality.

He started his journey by courageously confronting his hormone imbalances head-on.

Blood tests revealed significantly depleted testosterone, impaired thyroid function, and elevated stress hormones—a picture of a body under siege, mirroring his past combat experiences.

Accepting this truth was tough, but Mike knew real freedom required courage.

Mike began therapeutic testosterone optimization therapy.

Within weeks, he noticed powerful improvements: renewed energy, mental clarity, improved mood, and physical strength returning.

The warrior spirit within him awakened once more, revitalized by his decision to confront his biological reality.

Then Mike took an even braver step: incorporating therapeutic peptides.

He started with BPC-157 and TB-500 to heal joint pain from years of physical strain.

The relief was dramatic.

It allowed him to regain mobility and return to his favorite activities—things he had thought impossible only months before.

Next came mitochondrial optimization.

Mike courageously integrated SS-31 into his protocol to rejuvenate cellular energy production, clearing away the chronic fatigue and brain fog that had lingered since his deployment.

His body started responding powerfully, as if remembering how vibrant life could be.

Mike's every step was a courageous declaration of freedom—a silent yet powerful act honoring the bravery he’d witnessed firsthand overseas.

He was reclaiming the life he’d risked everything to protect.

Mike’s story—this composite of so many veterans I’ve been honored to coach—is about more than health optimization.

It’s about courage.

It’s about choosing life, vitality, and freedom in every sense, every single day.

It’s about refusing to accept a compromised version of oneself, and daring to fight for the health and wellness we all deserve.

This Memorial Day, let’s honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice by courageously stepping into our best selves.

Health optimization through hormone therapy and peptides is how we boldly declare our freedom to live fully.

Hunter
