Former athlete? Check your head đź§
Why you probably have more brain damage than you think
I know my audience pretty well…
And I know that a lot of you are not really what you’d call “Type B”.
You guys are like me.
You’re intense.
You’re go-getters.
You subscribe to a “grab life by the horns” strategy.
And I’m willing to bet that you played sports at some point in your life.
It’s something that I’ve noticed continually throughout my adult life.
When I was in cutthroat real estate sales, many of my peers came from an athletics background.
The same thing happened when I started working as an online entrepreneur, launching my e-commerce brand and eventually this business that I’m currently involved in.
Many entrepreneurs I’ve met and worked with have come from a sports background.
Jay Campbell was a competitive basketball player.
I myself played college football at a high level.
And it makes perfect sense…
After all, if you want to succeed in sales, entrepreneurship, or any of these hyper-competitive fields, you need to have a certain amount of INTENSITY.
All of which competitive sports prepare you for.
But the downside?
🧠Brain damage and concussions
Look, I played football from when I was a little kid until I finished college in my early 20s.
And I’ve had more concussions and head trauma than I can possibly count.
And no, I’m not just talking about the EPIC ones where you get hit, your head cracks back, and you see 🌟 (although I’ve had my share of those too).
I’m talking about all the little “micro concussions.”
Every time you and another dude collide, there’s some kind of brain damage involved.
You’re getting some kind of trauma to the head.
And over time, these little hits add up and fundamentally change the chemistry of your brain.
And usually, NOT for the better.
Now, obviously, some sports are worse than others.
Football is one of the worst offenders.
Hockey and rugby are both pretty savage.
Boxing and MMA are obviously BRUTAL.
But even sports like basketball have a shockingly high concussion and M.T.B.I. (Mild Traumatic Brain Injury) rate.
So, if you are a former (or CURRENT) athlete, my message to you is this:
You’ve probably taken more damage to the head than you think.
Yes, I’m WAY on the far end of the spectrum.
But like I said, most guys who have played long enough have SOMETHING.
Now, I don’t know your exact situation…
But I do know that there are a few things IN GENERAL that I’d recommend that can really help out.
First of all, BPC-157 is a serious lifesaver.
Remember, this bad boy is KING when it comes to bringing down inflammation.
And that includes inflammation in the brain.
Cerebrolysin is also amazing for this.
Because while all the effects of head trauma are bad, one of the WORST possible outcomes is developing dementia later in life.
And Cerebrolysin helps nip that in the bud.
Last but not least, get your testosterone together.
This was the ultimate move for me.
All of the TBIs and brain damage I sustained in football devastated my pituitary function, wreaked havoc on my testosterone levels, and left me with CRIPPLING symptoms.
And I’m not kidding when I say that getting on TOT was the greatest decision I ever made for my brain.
Best,
Hunter Williams
