Men, Testosterone, and Entrepreneurship
Breaking out of the "employee mindset"
I always wanted to run my own business.
Ever since I was a kid, I had it in the back of my mind:
I wanted to make money đź’°
And I wanted to do it on MY terms.
Part of this was driven by my upbringing.
No, I didn’t grow up poor.
But I did grow up working class.
And when you grow up working class, you have it pounded into your head that money is scarce…
And you’re one missed paycheck away from being broke.
But money’s not the only reason I wanted to get into business.
There’s also personality and temperament.
I’ve ALWAYS been competitive.
I’ve ALWAYS wanted to achieve great things.
To be the best of the best.
It’s the reason I played football from the age of 7.
And it’s why, after graduating from college, I bailed on my dull-as-a-box-of-rocks finance job and broke into real estate.
But looking back on it?
It’s an absolute MIRACLE that I did as well as I did in that industry.
Again, not because of inherent personality or temperament….
But because that personality and temperament were slowly being taken away from me.
You see, I got into real estate right when my testosterone deficiency kicked in.
And if you know anything about testosterone deficiencies (or if you’re suffering through one yourself), I’m sure you can imagine that entrepreneurship and low T don’t mix:
❌ Brain fog
❌ Lethargy
❌ Depression
❌ Anxiety
Not a fun time when you’re working 12 hours a day trying to get something started.
But there’s a SPIRITUAL component to this as well:
Entrepreneurship is an inherently masculine pursuit.
And before anyone says anything, no, I’m not saying women can’t be entrepreneurs.
I’m saying that it requires masculine ENERGY:
âś… Patience
âś… Courage
âś… Resolve
âś… Dedication
And when these traits are lacking, it’s almost impossible to function as an entrepreneur.
Sure, you can push for a while…
But at a certain point, if that intrinsic masculine drive isn’t there, something’s gonna break…
And you’re gonna tap out.
But perhaps more importantly than anything, testosterone and properly balanced masculine energy are what allow us to create and conduct our businesses ETHICALLY.
Think about it…
Business is inherently a “service-to-other” enterprise.
The very thing that distinguishes a business that succeeds and a business that fails is the extent to which it solves problems for OTHERS.
Notice the keyword there?
You’re not solving YOUR problems, you’re solving OTHER people’s problems.
As I put it in my upcoming book “Testosterone: The God Molecule”:
When a man has healthy testosterone levels, he becomes integrated with himself and has the proper balance of right/left brain awareness.
The left brain being the masculine side and the right brain being the feminine side.
With this integration, he has the drive, decisiveness, and fortitude to drive and steer the ship of a business.
On the other hand, he also has the creativity, vision, foresight, and compassion needed to properly nurture, serve, and care for the customers.
Me?
I got lucky.
Through sheer grit and determination, I was able to fight through it.
And I was lucky enough to cross paths with Jay Campbell, discover my deficiency, and get it fixed.
But if I hadn’t?
If it had gone on any longer?
Honestly, I don’t know if I would have made it.
But what about YOU?
Seriously, that’s a real question.
What’s your situation?
👉 Are you a young guy getting into the “real world”?
👉 Are you a young guy currently experiencing wage slavery first hand (I feel your pain brother)
Or maybe you’re not a young guy at all…
👉 Maybe you’re an older guy who’s ALREADY started his own business - but the effects of low T are starting to kick
👉 Maybe you’re an older guy who IS a wage slave, and you’ve just had enough
Never too late đź‘Š
👉 Or maybe you’re perfectly happy being an employee…but you don’t want to have an “employee mindset”.
Maybe you want to go into your current company (or a new company) and make a dent.
Maybe you “see the potential” and want to grab the bull by the horns.
Well, guess what?
Regardless of who you are, the solution is the same:
If you ever want to make it on your own - and if you ever want to reclaim your masculinity - you MUST optimize your hormones.
This is why I’m so passionate about this topic.
Testosterone optimization isn’t just about “feeling better”:
It’s about steering the course of your life in the right direction.
And of course, if you need any help on your optimization journey, be sure to check out my one-to-one coaching or consider joining the Fully Optimized Health Community.
As a hormonally optimized, service-to-others being, I would love to help you on your journey 🙂
