Happy Wednesday!
Tomorrow is Christmas.
And before the noise, the food, the gatherings, the travel, the gifts, and everything else that comes with this time of year fully kicks in, I wanted to pause and write this to you.
When I was a kid, Christmas felt magical.
Not just the day itself, but the entire week leading up to it.
There was this quiet excitement in the air. The anticipation. The sense that something special was coming. Family would gather. Traditions would repeat themselves. Presents would be wrapped and hidden. Time felt slower, warmer, more intentional.
As I got older, that magic shifted.
In young adulthood, Christmas became more practical and more stressful.
I wanted to give more than I could afford. I wanted to show up in ways I simply wasn’t capable of at the time. Instead of anticipation, there was pressure.
Then later, as life progressed, that changed again.
I eventually reached a place where I had enough.
Enough money. Enough stability. Enough resources to create what most people would call an “abundant” Christmas.
And for a while, I thought that was the finish line.
I thought this was what I’d been missing all along.
But here’s what I’ve come to realize.
Christmas isn’t about gifts.
It isn’t about the stuff.
It isn’t about the numbers.
It isn’t about the material trappings of what we’re told happiness looks like.
Those things can be nice. And I’m grateful for them. Truly. But they are not the foundation.
What actually matters are the things you can’t buy.
Faith.
Family.
Health.
Relationships.
Connection.
Purpose.
Money can be made again.
Things can be replaced.
But you can’t purchase love.
You can’t manufacture meaning.
And you can’t replicate the feeling that comes from sharing your life with people you care deeply about.
And that’s where I find myself this Christmas.
I am deeply grateful for my wife.
For my family.
For the relationships in my life.
And for you, the people I get to serve, teach, learn from, and grow alongside every single day.
I don’t take that lightly.
I feel incredibly blessed and privileged to wake up excited to do the work I do.
To spend my days having conversations that matter.
To help people think differently about their health, their bodies, their lives, and themselves.
To build something meaningful with a community that actually cares.
That is not lost on me.
And when I slow down enough to really sit with that, I realize that this is the greatest gift I could ever ask for.
This Christmas, my intention is simple.
To embody love.
To embody warmth.
To embody gratitude.
To reflect on the many blessings in my life and hold them with presence instead of rushing past them.
If you’re reading this, I want you to know how thankful I am for you.
Whether you’ve been here for years or you just joined recently.
Whether you read every email or only catch a few.
Whether you agree with everything I say or simply appreciate the conversation.
You matter.
This community matters.
And I don’t take your time or attention for granted.
From my heart to yours, Merry Christmas.
I hope tomorrow is filled with peace, connection, laughter, and moments that remind you of what truly matters.
Best,
Hunter
