Optimization Is Not Optional
How to deal with America's toxic food supply
Jay Campbell and I got back from France and Spain about a week ago, and let me tell you, I felt like an absolute water balloon when I got home š
What can I say, itās the price you pay for spending 12 hours on an airplane and then another two weeks pounding croissants and freshly baked bread š„š„
Donāt get me wrong, it was absolutely worth it.
And when youāre optimized like Jay and I, you can handle periods where you eat more carbs than a marathon runner and still come out relatively unscathed (one more reason to become metabolically flexible).
But as I reflect on those two weeks, I noticed something funnyā¦
I didnāt feel like trash.
Yes, I felt waterlogged.
And yes, I felt a bit sluggish at times (especially after meals).
But I didnāt feel horrendous.
My mood was good, my digestion was good, and I was mentally and cognitively on point.
How could that possibly be?
How could I consume a completely unoptimized diet and still be 95% my regular, optimized self?
More importantly, how could two grown men eat like teenagers for two weeks and come home having gained nothing but some extra water weight?
Well, there are a few reasons.
First of all, I was living this way for a short period of time.
2 weeks aināt gonna kill me.
But 2 months? I would be well on my way to Flab Town.
Itās also a testament to all of the INCREDIBLE agents and practices Jay and I have discovered and perfected over the last few years.
ā GLP-1 micro-dosing (check out The Ultimate GLP-1 Masterclass if youāre still using these things the way your idiot allopathic doctor recommends)
ā Fasting (I still was fasting 20-24 hours every other day on my trip)
ā Regenoburn (coming SOON)
If we hadnāt access these practices and interventions, I donāt think we would have come out of this quiet so unscathed.
But to me, this points to an absolutely undeniable fact:
The American food supply is POISONED.
Thereās absolutely no question about it.
Thereās simply no way that we would have been able to replicate this in the US.
We ate fresh, delicious, high-calorie bread, croissants, and pastries almost dailyā¦
But we werenāt eating POISONED bread, croissants and pastries.
The keyword there is FRESH.
Look, the fact of the matter is this:
People like to blame addictive, hyper-palatable food for the obesity epidemic.
And I would absolutely agree that thatās an enormous part of the equation (especially when you consider how much money is being spent testing these Frankenfoods for maximum addictive properties).
But thatās only part of the equation.
The other part is the fact that our food supply is contaminated.
Itās laden with toxic, endocrine-disrupting chemicals - to the point where you can literally taste it as soon as it goes in your mouth and feel it within an hour of eating.
Itās gotten that bad.
And the data backs this up.
The US obesity rate is closing in at 40%.
In France and Spain?
Itās around 15-17%.
Now, donāt get it twisted.
An obesity rate of nearly 20% is NOT a good thing.
Like I said in my previous email on the Pacific Obesity Crisis, Big Food is on a mission to spread its toxic sludge into every nook and cranny of the planet.
And Europe is certainly no exception.
But still, the fact that the obesity rate is still less than HALF of what it is in America says something.
And after spending two weeks there, one of the things thatās clear is that this part of the world hasnāt been ravaged as badly as we have.
At least, not yet.
And to me, this unfortunate fact supports what Jay and I have been saying for the last few years:
Optimization is NOT optional.
Look, I am one of the most militant individuals on the face of the planet when it comes to what I put in my mouth.
Yet, even I struggle with getting clean food.
The situation is so bad that thereās literally no part of our food supply that it hasnāt affected.
You can buy as many organic products and source as much grass-fed beef as you wantā¦
But at the end of the day, thereās simply no way to escape it.
Thatās why we do all of this.
ā Thatās why we fast to help our bodies detoxify
ā Thatās why weāre hormonally optimized to ensure that our depleted hormones are being replaced in sufficient amounts
ā Thatās why we use therapeutic peptides to help ensure that our bodies are firing on all cylinders (always use code hunter15 for 15% off).
Because if you donāt, you are at the mercy of this toxic sludgeā¦
And all of the devastating consequences that it brings.
Best,
Hunter Williams
