Retatrutide Add-Ons
Why I like to pair it with MOTS-c
GLP-1 peptides are all the rage right now, and rightfully so.
But in the rage, many people lose the forest for the trees.
Even though retatrutide is a triple agonist, it is still a tiny piece of the fat loss puzzle.
Unfortunately, millions of GLP-1 users commit the cardinal sin of focusing on only one pathway for fat loss.
Of course, exercise and diet are essential, but we can also use other peptides synergistically with GLP-1s to get more bang for our buck.
In particular, I am a fan of mitochondrial-enhancing peptides like MOTS-c, which work on a separate pathway to GLPs to enhance fat loss.
More importantly, this allows us to maintain lower doses of GLP-1s, adhere to a micro-dosing strategy, and avoid unwanted side effects.
Today, I will spell out six reasons I am a fan of MOTS-c alongside retatrutide to enhance the fat loss we get from retatrutide.
Synergistic Effects on Metabolism:
Retatrutide stimulates GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors, leading to increased insulin sensitivity, fat oxidation, and appetite suppression.
MOTS-c improves mitochondrial function, glucose utilization, and metabolic flexibility.
Together, they greatly enhance fat loss, insulin response, and cellular energy consumption.
Counteracting Energy Deficiency
In some cases, Retatrutide may reduce appetite, thereby making you eat less, resulting in low energy, fatigue, and lethargy.
AMPK-activated MOTS-C enhances mitochondrial ATP production to help fuel the body with energy even on a calorie-restricted diet.
Preventing Muscle Loss
GLP-1 receptor agonists may also result in muscle wasting if protein intake and resistance training are inadequate.
MOTS-C exerts muscle-sparing effects by enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and activating AMPK.
Thus, you retain muscle during the cutting phase.
Improved Insulin Sensitivity
Retatrutide enhances insulin function by lowering glucose levels.
MOTS-C increases insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake in muscle cells.
This combination makes the body more efficient at nutrient partitioning, driving more glucose into muscle rather than fat storage.
Combating GLP-1-Induced Fatigue
Many people using GLP-1 agonists experience fatigue due to slowed digestion and metabolic shifts.
MOTS-C increases mitochondrial efficiency, potentially reducing fatigue and improving exercise performance.
Optimizing Longevity Pathways
Retatrutide and MOTS-C activate AMPK and improve mitochondrial health, longevity, and overall cellular resilience.
MOTS-C mimics exercise-like benefits at the cellular level, complementing Retatrutide’s metabolic benefits.
When you take Retatrutide with MOTS-C, you are getting:
✅ Rapid fat loss with no crash
✅ No muscle loss even when on a calorie deficit
✅ Improved insulin sensitivity and glucose management
✅ Lessened GLP-1-induced fatigue
✅ Long-term mitochondrial and metabolic health effects
This combo is perfect for losing fat, improving performance, and extending life without affecting energy or muscle mass.
Best,
Hunter
