Happy Friday!
FYI, Taylor and I will be live tomorrow morning at 10AM EST for a coffee talk. Bring your coffee and questions! Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/live/GcjDgQAAIi0?si=qbe9nYgl-vMh0Egk
I'm going to deviate a little from the normal peptide and HRT conversation today with a new podcast.
We're zooming out and going one layer deeper, into the mitochondrial energy side of things. Because the truth is, no peptide or hormone protocol is going to work the way it should if the power plant inside your cells is being beaten up 24/7 by your environment.
My guest is Peter Cowan. He is a quantum biology practitioner and environmental health investigator, and I got connected to him through my friend Brandon Amalani at BluShield.

Peter wrote a Substack series that shocked me.
The San Francisco 49ers practice and play right next to a massive power substation.
Why does this matter?
The 49ers have ranked in the top 6 most-injured teams in the NFL almost every single season since 2018.
In 2024, they were the most injured team in the league, and it wasn't even close.
In 2025, they ranked 5th and 6th in defense and offense, respectively.
John Lynch (their GM) just dropped $9 million on new trainers and hydro facilities to try to figure it out.
Nobody can explain it. Same coaching staff. Same conditioning programs. Same NFL practice schedule as every other team. So what is different about the 49ers?
The substation behind their building.
The players themselves have been joking about it on the radio for years. Peter took that joke seriously and went deep on the actual science.
What you'll find is that this is not just an NFL story. It's a you story.
The same mechanisms wrecking those players are running in the background of most people's lives every single day.
Here is what we cover in the podcast:
The simple EMF checklist anyone can run through this weekend. Hardwire your computer. Phone on airplane mode. Wi-Fi off at night. Opt out of the smart meter if you can. Peter walks through each one and which one matters most.
The milligauss number the World Health Organization quietly admits is linked to leukemia. It is lower than you think. And if you live within a few hundred yards of a major power line, you are almost certainly above it.
What is actually happening inside the mitochondria of those 49ers players. Peter explains how alternating magnetic fields stretch the electron transport chain, which in turn generates reactive oxygen species. More oxidative stress. More damage. Less ATP. It is a feedback loop, and once it starts, it does not stop on its own.
Why EMF at night crushes your testosterone before you even know it. Cortisol up at night means melatonin down. Melatonin down means no repair. No repair means your tendons, your tissues, and your hormones never get the rebuild signal. Peter ties this all the way back to pregnenolone steal, which is the upstream reason most guys have low T and never figure it out.
The three-pronged light protocol that took Peter's testosterone from 437 to over 800. Just morning sun, dimming the lights at dusk, and being serious about blue blockers before sunrise.
The 4 AM fasted gym session under fluorescent lights. I did this for years. Peter explains why it might be the single worst thing high performers are doing to themselves, and exactly how to fix it without giving up your early workout.
Final Thoughts
Peter is doing some of the most important investigative work I have seen in this space.
He is the guy actually pulling the thread on stories nobody else is touching. The 49ers piece is just the start.
Go follow his Substack. It is free. You will learn things you cannot learn anywhere else.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Best,
Hunter Williams
