The Liar Paradox
And what it means for your health
Happy Wednesday!
I just returned from my honeymoon in Italy late last night.
It was a phenomenal, life-changing experience, and I am so grateful Taylor and I had the opportunity to experience a different culture and location for two weeks.
Mark Twain once said:
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime"
I recommend that everyone travel as much as possible to expand their horizons. It will change your life.
As I often do when I travel, I took more time to read than my usual hour per day.
I found myself reading about paradoxes.
A paradox is a statement that seems true, but when you think about it carefully, it contradicts itself.
Paradoxes force us to confront the fact that reality is often more complex than the black-and-white answers we’re usually given.
And as I dug deeper, I realized something.
Life is full of paradoxes.
And one paradox known as the Liar Paradox may explain why so many people feel stuck in their health journeys.
FYI, BioLongevity Labs is running a flash sale on the following items until Friday at midnight PST.
The GLOW Blend (BPC-157/TB-500/GHK-cu)
BioRestore (Oral BPC-157 with arginine salt)
The items are 20% off and you can save an additional 15% off when you use code HUNTERW at checkout.
What Is the Liar Paradox?
The Liar Paradox is one of the oldest logical puzzles known to man. It goes like this:
“This statement is false.”
Now, think about it.
If the statement is true, then it must be false.
But if it’s false, then it must be true.
You’re caught in a loop that never resolves itself.
It’s like staring at a sign that says: “Ignore this sign.”
Your brain short-circuits.
You can’t process it.
Paradoxes force you to confront the limits of logic, language, and perception.
A Little History
The Liar Paradox goes back thousands of years.
The earliest version comes from Epimenides the Cretan, around the 6th century BC.
He said: “All Cretans are liars.”
But if that statement is true, then Epimenides himself (a Cretan) must also be lying, making the statement false.
But if it’s false, then some Cretans must tell the truth, which makes the statement true again.
You see the loop.
From the ancient Greeks to the medieval philosophers, and then modern logicians like Bertrand Russell and Kurt Gödel, the Liar Paradox has haunted human thought.
It reveals cracks in the very structure of language and logic itself.
Modern Variations
Over the centuries, philosophers have had fun twisting the Liar Paradox into new forms:
The Two-Sentence Liar:
“The following sentence is true.”
“The previous sentence is false.”
The Strengthened Liar:
“This statement is not true.”
The Double Liar:
“This statement is false or meaningless.”
To a layperson, these might seem like word games.
But what they show us is that truth can’t always be pinned down neatly as “true” or “false.”
Sometimes the system itself collapses under the weight of contradiction.
Sound familiar?
That’s the exact same feeling most people get navigating modern health advice.
Why Philosophers Obsess Over It
The Liar Paradox changed philosophy, math, and even computer science.
Thinkers like Gödel used liar-style reasoning to prove that any logical system has statements that can’t be proven true or false inside the system itself.
This is called incompleteness.
Translated to everyday life, the Liar Paradox shows us there are limits to the “rules” we’re given.
Sometimes, the truth can’t be found inside the system.
You have to step outside of it.
And that’s exactly the position most people find themselves in with health care.
The Liar Paradox in Health
Let me give you the health version of the Liar Paradox.
Your doctor says, “You’re fine. Your labs are normal.”
But you feel broken. You’re exhausted, overweight, moody, inflamed, and struggling.
If the doctor is right, then you shouldn’t feel broken.
But if you’re truly fine, then your symptoms should not exist.
Yet they do.
You’re caught in an infinite loop of bad code.
Like a computer program that crashes because the instructions contradict themselves.
Mainstream health advice is one big paradox.
“Fat is bad for you. Wait, fat is good. Carbs are bad. No, carbs are essential. Hormones are dangerous. But without hormones, you can’t live.”
It’s enough to make anyone’s brain spin.
Meanwhile, we all got bills to pay and mouths to feed!
The Deeper Truth
The Liar Paradox proves that not everything labeled as “truth” is actually true.
Health works the same way.
The mainstream system is full of “truths” that trap you in contradiction:
You’re told you’re fine while you feel awful.
You’re told aging is normal while decline accelerates.
You’re told hormones are dangerous while they quietly prescribe them to the wealthy and powerful.
Live in this paradox long enough, and you become it.
You’re both “fine” and “broken” at the same time.
Just like the liar statement.
How Hormones and Peptides Break the Paradox
So what’s the way out?
Logicians resolved the Liar Paradox by creating levels of truth.
At one level, the statement contradicts itself.
But if you step up to a higher level, you can classify the whole system and see it clearly.
That’s exactly what hormones and peptides do for your health.
They let you step outside the paradox.
Instead of debating whether you’re fine or not, you look at your testosterone levels, thyroid function, insulin sensitivity, and mitochondrial output.
When you have this concrete data, you can’t be GAS-LIT!
When you optimize hormones and use therapeutic peptides, you don’t live in contradiction anymore.
You find a consistent truth.
Your biology either works…or it doesn’t.
Breaking Free From the Infinite Loop
Think of your health like software.
Right now, most people are running on glitchy code.
Every time they ask their doctor why they feel bad, the program spits back:
“Error. Does not compute. You are fine.”
This is the health version of the Liar Paradox. It’s an endless loop that never resolves.
But by upgrading your biology with hormones, peptides, and optimization strategies, you rewrite the code.
Suddenly, the loop breaks.
The program runs smoothly.
Energy returns.
Muscle builds.
Fat burns.
Clarity comes back.
And before you know it, you’ve chosen to operate outside the paradox that traps most people.
The Life You Actually Want
At the end of the day, breaking the Liar Paradox in health is about taking control of truth.
If you keep living inside the paradox, you’ll keep getting the same contradictions.
“Normal” lab ranges, but low energy.
“Healthy for your age,” but deteriorating year after year.
If you step outside the paradox, you get the life you actually want.
A life where you wake up energized, lean, focused, and present.
A life where your hormones support the life you desire instead of sabotaging you.
The Liar Paradox teaches us one thing.
Systems can lie to themselves.
But your biology never lies.
It either works…or it doesn’t.
You have the choice to step outside the loop.
Best,
Hunter Williams
