The Most Sacred Vow
Honor thyself
Happy Sunday!
Tonight at 8 PM EST, Jay and I will be going live to answer your questions. '
Tonight will be a general Q&A on all things peptides and hormones.
Make sure you bring some good questions!
Next weekend, I’m getting married!
As you can imagine, I’ve been spending a lot of time crafting my vows recently.
This process of writing and rewriting what I’ll say at the altar got me thinking deeply about vows and promises and what they truly mean in our lives.
At its core, a vow is a sacred promise.
It is an eternal statement of intent that you hold yourself to no matter what challenges you face.
Think of it like an anchor that grounds your actions to your deepest values, intentions, and purposes.
And as I was thinking about the vows I’ll be making on my wedding day, I realized vows are foundational in every single part of life.
But here’s the big question: if vows are so crucial, why do most people struggle to follow through on what they say they’re going to do?
Think about it for a moment.
Every year, millions of people set New Year’s resolutions—little vows to themselves—and yet, statistically, around 80% of those resolutions fall apart by February.
People start diets, workout programs, meditation routines, or new habits, only to quickly revert back to their old ways.
It’s a common human experience, and it leaves many frustrated, confused, and feeling defeated.
What’s going wrong?
The answer is deceptively simple yet deeply profound: most people don’t treat their intentions as true vows.
Instead, they treat them as mere wishes—nice ideas that quickly fade when motivation wanes.
One of my mentors recently shared this powerful truth with me: the simplest and strongest vow anyone can make is to simply do what they say they’re going to do.
It’s integrity, authenticity, and personal responsibility rolled into one powerful practice.
And frankly, it’s the key to unlocking virtually any result you want in life.
Fitness
Let’s start with fitness because, as you know, I believe your physical health is the foundation of every aspect of your existence.
Virtually everyone already knows exactly what they need to do to get healthy.
They don’t need complex diets, flashy equipment, or magic supplements.
In fact, if most people simply did these four things:
Perform cardiovascular exercise 5-6 days per week.
Lift weights or do resistance training 3-4 times per week.
Eat 80-90% unprocessed, whole foods.
Get hormonally optimized
…They would eliminate 90% of their health problems.
I’m serious—the science backs it up.
Lifestyle factors, primarily diet and exercise, cause roughly 80-90% of all chronic diseases.
But here’s why most people fail: they overcomplicate things, chase shortcuts, and ultimately don’t follow through on the basics.
The real magic happens when you turn your fitness intention into an unbreakable vow—a promise so serious that you refuse to negotiate with yourself.
Ask yourself honestly: When you vow to exercise in the morning, do you treat that promise as sacred, unbreakable, and non-negotiable?
Or is it easily discarded when it’s dark outside and your bed feels cozy?
The difference between those who get results and those who don’t isn’t usually talent, genetics, or luck.
It’s simply integrity—doing what they say they will do.
Spirit
Now, let’s take it deeper into spirituality.
Traditionally, vows have always been sacred promises witnessed by something greater than ourselves.
A vow in a spiritual context is powerful because it connects your daily actions to your deeper values and higher purpose.
In spiritual traditions around the world, vows serve as compasses, guiding individuals on their journey.
Similarly, when you set an intention to live mindfully, lovingly, or purposefully, you’re essentially making a vow to your spirit.
You’re saying, “This is who I choose to be. This is how I choose to live.”
Breaking that vow, even subtly, undermines your spiritual integrity.
But when you honor it, day after day, you become aligned, powerful, and purposeful.
Your life resonates with authenticity and clarity.
Treating your intentions as sacred spiritual vows can transform your life by turning ordinary actions into meaningful rituals.
Eating healthy, exercising, being kind, and meditating are no longer mundane tasks but spiritual practices rooted in deeper truth.
Integrity
Across both fitness and spirituality, there is a powerful common thread: integrity.
At the deepest philosophical level, integrity means aligning your actions and words—consistently doing what you say you will do.
Philosophers from Kant to Nietzsche have identified the ability to make and keep promises as foundational to ethical living and personal power.
Nietzsche even saw promise-keeping as what separates humans from animals—because it involves mastery over oneself and one's impulses.
Integrity is the secret ingredient to meaningful, lasting change.
It’s not complicated, but it’s difficult because it demands discipline and consistency. It means you say less, but when you speak, you speak clearly, and your words are ironclad.
It means you carefully choose your commitments—and then you honor them without hesitation.
The One Vow That Will Transform Your Life
So here’s my challenge to you:
Starting today, treat your intentions as sacred vows.
Whether it’s fitness, diet, relationships, or spiritual growth—stop treating your goals casually.
Decide exactly what you will commit to.
Write it down.
Share it with someone you respect.
Then refuse to break it.
Your integrity—your ability to follow through—is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
It is the key to unlocking profound personal power, transforming your body, mind, relationships, and spirit.
Remember: the simplest and strongest vow of all is this:
Do what you say you’re going to do.
Incorporate this one vow into your life, and you will experience breakthroughs like never before.
Your relationships will deepen, your health will thrive, and your spiritual connection will flourish.
Next weekend, as I stand before family and friends and make my vows to Taylor, I’ll be reminded of how sacred promises shape our lives.
But remember, the most important vows are those we keep daily, quietly, and faithfully to ourselves.
Thank you for being on this incredible journey with me.
