VIP: A Very Important Peptide
Plus my peptide stack for mold
Happy Friday!
I just dropped a brand new YouTube video breaking down my top peptides for beating mold toxicity.
If you or anyone you know has ever struggled with chronic fatigue, brain fog, or weird health issues after living or working in a moldy environment… this is required viewing.
However, today I want to take it even further for my email list.
While there are a handful of useful peptides for mold recovery, one stands out as the absolute cornerstone of any mold healing protocol: VIP, or Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide.
This peptide is legendary in the mold recovery world for a reason, and if you stick with me to the end, I’ll show you exactly how to use it (by injection or nasal spray), plus hook you up with a massive discount at BioLongevity Labs.
VIP vs. Mold
There are a ton of therapies, supplements, and hacks floating around online for people with mold illness or CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome).
Some work, some are a waste of time.
But every true expert like Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker comes back to VIP as the game changer.
Why?
Because mold exposure throws your body’s entire signaling system out of whack.
After the initial damage, your immune system gets stuck in a perpetual “ON” mode, inflammation surges, your brain chemistry tanks, and hormone signaling goes haywire.
VIP is the peptide that hits the reset button on this process.
It literally brings your brain, immune system, and hormone axis back online, almost like rebooting the operating system after a malware attack.
VIP Mechanisms
VIP stands for Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide.
It’s a short protein made naturally in your brain, gut, and nerves.
It’s involved in:
Regulating inflammation and immune response
Keeping the blood-brain barrier tight and healthy
Controlling blood flow and oxygenation
Managing hormone and sleep-wake cycles
Restoring balance after stress or infection
It’s your body’s natural “peacekeeper” and orchestrator.
This endogenous peptide is severely compromised in cases of mold toxicity.
In fact, low blood VIP is one of the classic hallmarks of CIRS/mold injury.
VIP’s Superpowers
Here’s why I call VIP the cornerstone of mold recovery:
1. Shuts Down Chronic Inflammation
Mold exposure leaves your immune system in a perpetual alarm state.
VIP calms the cytokine storm, downregulates overactive immune cells, and stops the self-destruction cycle.
2. Repairs Your Brain and Nervous System
Mold toxins can make your blood-brain barrier leaky, leading to “brain on fire” issues like cognitive problems, fatigue, and even depression.
VIP tightens up the BBB and repairs neural signaling, allowing your brain to recover.
3. Hormonal Reboot
Mold wrecks hormone signaling by crushing levels of MSH (melanocyte-stimulating hormone) and ADH (anti-diuretic hormone).
VIP helps restore MSH and other key hormones, improving sleep, energy, and metabolism.
4. Better Oxygenation and Circulation
Many people with mold illness get short of breath, feel weak, or develop weird cardiovascular symptoms.
VIP dilates blood vessels and bronchioles, reversing constriction and boosting tissue oxygenation.
5. Restores Gut and Sinus Health
Mold often colonizes the sinuses and gut.
VIP supports healthy mucous membranes and secretions, helping those areas heal after detox.
Bottom line: VIP is the master switch for full-body recovery once the toxins are out.
Who Should Consider VIP?
If you’re wondering if you’re a candidate, here’s what I recommend:
VIP is for people who:
Have had significant mold exposure or a diagnosis of CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome)
Still have symptoms after leaving the moldy environment and completing binders/antibiotics
Have low MSH or VIP on lab tests, chronic fatigue, brain fog, or hormonal chaos
Feel like “something is stuck” no matter how many detoxes or supplements they’ve tried
VIP is NOT for people who:
Are still exposed to mold (it won’t work—gotta get out first)
Haven’t addressed MARCoNS (nasal staph) or gut colonization
Are looking for a quick fix without doing the foundational work
In short: VIP is the restoration peptide.
What Benefits Can You Expect with VIP?
From clinical research and real-world cases, here’s what people typically notice after starting VIP:
Sharper memory, clearer thinking, and “lifting of the brain fog”
More energy, less crashing, more stable stamina
Deeper sleep and better mood regulation
Fewer aches, pains, and inflammatory symptoms
Improved exercise tolerance and faster recovery
Normalization of hormone function, including MSH and ADH
Better sinus and gut health—less congestion, bloating, or weird GI symptoms
Some see improvements in the first week or two, while others may take a couple of months.
For many, it’s the missing piece that makes everything else finally work.
How to Mix and Dose VIP (for Injection or Nasal Spray)
If you get a 5mg vial of VIP from BioLongevity Labs, here’s the best way to reconstitute and use it for either subcutaneous injection or nasal spray:
Step 1: Reconstitution For Injection
Remove the cap from the 5mg VIP vial.
Wipe the rubber stopper with alcohol.
Draw up 2ml of bacteriostatic water in a sterile syringe.
Slowly inject the water into the vial, aiming at the glass wall to avoid foaming.
Gently swirl (do NOT shake) the vial until fully dissolved.
Result: Each 0.1ml (10 units) contains 0.25mg (250mcg) of VIP.
Step 2: Subcutaneous Injection Protocol
Use an insulin syringe to draw up your desired dose (typically 50-200mcg per injection).
5 units = 125mcg
10 units = 250mcg
Inject subcutaneously into the belly once daily in the AM.
Rotate sites and always use a new sterile needle.
Step 3: Nasal Spray Protocol
Add 2ml of Sodium Chloride Nasal Spray Solution to the vial (I prefer this over BAC water because it doesn’t burn)
Withdraw and put into an empty nasal spray bottle
Add 3ml of extra nasal spray solution to the bottle (this is to get the appropriate dose per spray)
Each spray should deliver 0.1 ml which is about 100mcg; most protocols recommend 1 spray in each nostril 2-4 times daily.
Store in the fridge and use within 14-21 days of reconstitution for best potency.
Pro tip: Start low, go slow, and monitor how you feel—some people are very sensitive and may need to titrate up over a week.
